  1. I’m a serious student of the War Between the States. I really need to bone up on the Revolutionary War. I have direct ancestors who fought in the American Revolution, and others who fought for the Confederacy. I’ve mentioned before, but my GGGG? grandfather, Capt. Philip Pledger, served with Francis Marion (the Swamp Fox) in the Revolution. He’s buried in a small church cemetery in Cheraw. I need to go look up his resting place.

After squinting my tired old eyes and reading the sign, my ancestor most likely participated in this battle. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!
