DARLINGTON — J. Warren Coggeshall,
was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Alvin C. and Annie W. Coggeshall. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1916. He served in the U. S. Army in the Mexican Boarder Incident, in France during the World War I with the Rainbow Division (and was awarded the Purple Heart) and in World War II. Uniquely enough, he and his son both served in WWII.
He was a civil engineer and was employed by the S. C. Highway Department for many years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 13, Damon Hunting Club.
